School of Seven Bells will release Put Your Sad Down EP on November 13, 2012. The EP will be available from all digital music providers and was previously only available as a download card sold exclusively on their recent fall tour that included shows with Silversun Pickups, Afghan Whigs, and several headline shows.
“Put Your Sad Down is the most fun Alley and I have had making music in a long time,” said guitarist Benjamin Curtis. “We originally released early versions of some of these songs for our fans that made it out to our last US tour. I guess we fell in love with these songs in a way we didn’t anticipate, so we decided to polish them up and make it official. Put Your Sad Down is the mantra we’re carrying with us into the New Year, and we’re excited to share it with you all.”
The five-track EP includes four new original tracks as well as a cover of Silver Apples’ “Lovefingers” from their eponymous 1968 album.
Curtis and Alejandra Deheza (vocals/guitar) recently announced a handful of co-headline dates with Twin Sister that begin November 26 in Washington DC at the Black Cat and wrap up a week later in Cambridge, Massachusetts on December 2 at The Sinclair. School of Seven Bells is touring in support of their third full-length, Ghostory (2/12, Vagrant/Ghostly International).
